BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Eleanor Robbins Power, 90 years old, was born on September 17, 1932, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and passed away on February 24, 2023, at home in Melbourne, Florida, after a long bout with cancer and battling Covid.
Eleanor grew up in Unionville, New York. She spent summers with her family on Mohegan Lake.
She is predeceased by her brother, Henry Robbins, and sister, Henrietta Robbins, her husband, Jack A. Power, and her son Terrence A Power.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Deborah Power, who devoted her life to the full-time care of her beloved mother and best friend; her granddaughters, Mindy, and Megan, grandson, Rick, great grandsons, Jack, Micah and Jude, and great-granddaughter, Haddie.
Eleanor loved to give to the community, so she chose to become a teacher. Helping young people discover a passion for learning was a true joy in her life. Eleanor would say that the birth of her son and daughter were the best moments of her life.
It would be wrong to say that Eleanor lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined.
When anyone else would have broken, Eleanor stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Her joy for her family and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain.
The world has lost a truly beautiful soul who was only gifted to us for a short while. She has returned to the angels where she belongs.
