BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – It’s not often that life brings us someone as special as Rose Britcher. She was a friend to everyone she met and left a lasting impression on them. Beautiful and loving Rose was called to heaven and left this world on Sunday, February 26, 2023.
She is survived by her four children (Daniel, Jane, Douglas, and Linda) and three grandchildren (Brian, Kelly and Meredith), each of whom had a special memory to share:
■ Dan: “Rose Britcher never met a stranger. She loved being active and was involved in, and held offices in, many social and community groups. My mom also really knew how to work a room with a microphone. Once she had your attention, and you caught that twinkle in those bright blue eyes, you knew she was about to hit you with the latest risqué story or joke that would always get the type of laugh that would fill a room”.
■ Jane: “To me my mother was so many things. She was love, fun, comfort and such a compassionate and giving person. My mother chose a career in nursing which allowed her kindness to shine. She truly had a nurse’s heart. I love her so much and will miss her even more”.
■ Doug: “Mom never met anyone she didn’t like. She didn’t have an enemy in the world. Her love was not only unconditional but also non-judgmental. I will truly miss her love, and, yes her hamburger corn soup.”
■ Linda: “Mom was a very giving person. Every time you visited, she always had to give you a bag of goodies to take home. It could have been leftovers, old family dishes, linens, etc. Mom always asked if there was something here that you want? You did not leave unless you had a bag of goodies.”.
■ Brian: “My grandmother was the embodiment of love to her entire family. She was the maker of the best cold meatloaf sandwiches and the most competitive card player the world will ever know. I had the honor of having the greatest grandmother for 45 years and will miss her every day”
■ Kelly and Meredith: “Grandma was the maker of some of the best fudge you have ever eaten. Our grandmother shared her special recipe with us, and we will keep her memory alive every year by making it for our family and loved ones. We will also continuously associate the movie “The Little Princess” with our grandmother. We must have watched that movie a hundred times together. Each time the ending would always get us and pull at our heartstrings. We would cry so hard we would end up laughing about it, only to laugh so hard we would end up crying again. Those moments are so precious to us, and every time we watch that movie, we will think of our grandma”.
A Funeral Mass for Rose will be held on Tuesday, March 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Titusville, Florida.
