American-Brazilian musician and composer, Sami Chohfi, is one of the many renowned musicians who are marking the history while following their passion and love for music.
Chohfi was born on the on the 8th of June, 1982 in Sacramento, California. He graduated from Stranahan High School in 2000. His desire to pursue a successful career in music made him to join the industry at the mere age of 14.
He began self-learning guitar in 1995 and his first guitar was a candy apple red Fender Jazz master gifted by his mother on his birthday. For Chohfi, music was a salvation as he suffered bullying experiences in school and at home. Soon he decided to move to Seattle so that he may pursue his musical dreams.
Since 2008, Chohfi has remained the founding member of the Seattle rock and Blue Helix. He is among the few musicians whose works are featured on well-notable media outlets including Music Box, Rolling Stone, and MTV.
With his performances praised all across the world, he has played in Las Vegas, Denver, Portland, Post Falls, and Seattle, as well as in India, the Philippines, Japan, Armenia, and Cambodia.
During his successful nine-city tour of Brazil in 2022, he had the chance to directly meet and engage with a large number of new admirers. Chohfi did 12 gigs in 9 locations in four states in 2022, his most recent tour of Brazil as his songs gained popularity all over the world. In June 2023, he is scheduled to visit the nation once more for his fifth tour.
For his music and composing skills, Chohfi has been awarded by many prestigious platforms including ISSA and World Songwriting Awards, while also being recognized as 2022 Male Vocalist of the Year from Music Mafia Radio. Blue Helix won the “Battle of the Bands” in 2015 promoted by 96.5 Jack-FM and Muckleshoot Casino.
In 2014, the Brazilian competition “Sua Banda Dá um Show,” sponsored by Movida car rental and 89 FM A Radio Rock, was won by Blue Helix. The competition was covered by Rolling Stone Brazil. With Chohfi’s lead, the band is all set to make a mark in music history.
