BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 25-year-old Cocoa woman has died after a fatal crash claimed her life early Saturday morning on Max Brewer Memorial Parkway.

Authorities say three children and a 28-year-old Cocoa man also suffered minor injuries, as a result of the crash.

The crash happened when the Cocoa woman was driving eastbound Max Brewer Memorial Parkway, east of Blackpoint Wildlife Dr. around 12:03 a.m. on Saturday.

State troopers say the woman failed to maintain the eastbound lane when she traveled in a southeast direction, ran off the roadway and struck two trees.

The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to roll into a ditch filled with water. The vehicle became partially submerged in the standing water.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passengers inside the vehicle were taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
