Eastern Florida State Basketball Player Andres Burney Earns NJCAA Division I All-America Honors

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball player Andres Burney was named to the NJCAA Division I All-America Honorable Mention team on Tuesday.

The sophomore from Brundidge, Alabama helped the Titans to a 22-win season and the Region VIII Tournament semifinals.

Burney started 29 of the team’s 31 games this season and averaged 17.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.

The forward was named to the Central Conference First Team as well as an all-state selection as he finished the season with 13 double-doubles and three 30-point games.

His 300 rebounds place him third all-time in rebounds in a season and he scored 539 points which put him in the top 10 in the past decade of the program.

Burney, who was a third-team All-American last season with Shelton State, is the 16th Titan to be named an NJCAA Division I All-America and the first since Ahmed Ali in 2018.
