Lohr was possessing and distributing files containing child pornography

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Thanks to a great partnership between our agency, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), the U.S. Custom and Immigration Enforcement’s Homeland Security, and the United States Attorney’s Office, 59-year-old Kirk Lohr, of Merritt Island, is on his way to Federal Prison for the next 60 years.
Lohr was originally charged with production and possession of child pornography and was subsequently sentenced to 60 years in prison by a Federal Judge, the Honorable Carlos Mendoza.
The case started on February 16, 2022, when Agents from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) responded to a cyber-tip from NCMEC.
The tip identified an email address that was later identified as belonging to Lohr, that was possessing and distributing files containing child pornography.
A search warrant was obtained for Lohr’s residence, where upon entry into the residence, BCSO Agents observed that Lohr’s laptop was open, and images of child pornography were visible.
Several of the images on the laptop were images provided in the NCMEC cyber-tip and further investigation revealed that several of the images were actually produced by Lohr himself!!
As a result of the search warrant and investigation, Agents were able to identify and rescue the children who were the victims of the homemade images produced by Lohr.
This case is a perfect example of what happens to a sicko in Brevard County who preys upon our most precious of citizens, our children!! He is locked up right where he belongs so that the only image he is gonna see for the next 60 years is his cell mate!!
Great job by everyone involved in getting him off our streets and safely behind bars!!
