Minigame Recs: For Florida Residents Only

By  //  April 27, 2023

Florida is easily one of the most exciting and fascinating states to live in. Ecologically, it’s got tropical beaches and stretches of unspoiled swamps in the Everglades.

Culturally, it’s a hot spot for dozens of industries, from pro sports to amusement parks to outdoor adventures. Space Coast residents also have access to some of the world’s coolest rocket launches.

Given the state’s climate and easy-going lifestyle, it’s become one of the most sought-out places to live in the US. But newcomers who are settling into a sunnier life may not realize just how many unique opportunities they have at their fingertips. And while it might take a few years to get acclimated to a new series of adventures, minigames are a great way to explore the Sunshine State.

If you’re a Florida resident, try out one of the minigames listed below. You might find you have a leg up on other gamers who don’t know about the state’s most popular activities.

Big Blue Bounty

Though many people might think about opulence and glamour first when imagining a casino, it’s interesting to know that slots are the world’s most popular casino game. And when it comes to online slots, there are dozens of options that will suit Florida residents. But the best is Big Blue Bounty. This slot game takes players deep into an underwater wonderland.

The game includes an exciting reel of maritime symbols, featuring the great sperm whale, jellyfish, octopuses, and pearl-sheltering clams. From the audio production to the background, it’s a feast for fans of Florida’s coastlines and beaches.

Golf Battle

Along with seaside adventures, Floridians also love the sport of golf. In fact, Florida was one of the first major hubs for professional golfers in the US. Today, the PGA Tour still hosts its annual Arnold Palmer Invitational in the state. Unsurprisingly, golfing games are a hit for locals.

One of the best minigames is the mobile title Golf Battle. This game lets players compete against friends or strangers in a real-time multiplayer mode, making it a great option for casual and/or competitive gamers. Additionally, the game includes unique and imaginative course layouts.

Among Us

For Space Coast residents, Among Us should be on the top of their minigame list. The game has become a global phenomenon in the last few years thanks to its unique premise. It takes players into a spaceship drama where they must pick out Imposters from their friendly Crewmates. As players work together to complete tasks, they must correctly identify which among them is a dangerous Imposter.

Though it doesn’t have the same scientific bend as some other space-themed games, it’s a great callback to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Station. And given it’s one of the biggest hits in mobile gaming from the last few years, it’s a great place to start for locals.

Ace Fishing: Wild Catch

Along with beachy activities, many Florida residents also enjoy fishing. Some stick to rivers and lakes, while others enjoy heading out to the sea in search of bigger catches. For those who enjoy the latter, Ace Fishing: Wild Catch offers a great chance to virtually enjoy their favorite sport. Compared to other fishing minigames Ace Fishing offers an incredibly detailed and accurate look at a variety of fish—fantasy and otherwise.

Players must work for every catch in order to build up their equipment supplies. As they improve their skills and equipment, they’re able to target larger and more difficult catches, including swordfish and blue pointers.

Boom Beach

Floridians will recognize the tropical and beachy themes in Boom Beach—but they’ll need to dig deep if they want to succeed in this real-time strategy game. The title pits players against one another randomly online (known as a massively multiplayer game), tasking them with battling an evil force known as the Blackguard.

Along the way, they’ll find themselves laying siege to fortresses, freeing others, and building an army that can take down enemy forces.
