SHERIFF IVEY TO EMAIL AUTHOR: there are still morons in the world and that you are

BREVARD COUNTY WAYNE IVEY: “You think you can send a nasty email to me and I won’t respond back…mess around and find out!” Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey responded to an email that said, “I hope someone after July 1st Brings a concealed weapon with no permit, background check or training to Brevard County and shoot the place up. This man is a danger to public safety and should be voted out of office by the citizens of Brevard County.”

Following is Sheriff Ivey’s response to the author:

Rod,

First and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to write to me and confirming, once again, that there are still morons in the world and that you are, in fact, the group’s leader!

While I always welcome both positive and negative feedback from our citizens, there will never be a day in hell when I let someone make suggestive threats of harm to our citizens or community without firing back with both barrels.

First of all, what kind of moron attempts to send hate emails and can’t even get one single part of the intended recipient’s name, right? I mean, come on, dude, are you that illiterate that you can’t figure out my name is “Wayne” and not “Glen” and that my last name is spelled “Ivey” not “Ivy?”

A quick Google search could have helped you through that minefield of mistakes, but I guess your little emotions were just running too rampant for you to think through it!!

In the future, if you want your threats or insults to be taken seriously, you have to try and do better at crafting your message! I mean, do you really expect to be taken seriously when you can’t get anything right? Your email actually looks like it was written by a fourth grader who was out on the playground at recess from elementary school.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey responded to an email that said, “I hope someone after July 1st Brings a concealed weapon with no permit, background check or training to Brevard County and shoot the place up. This man is a danger to public safety and should be voted out of office by the citizens of Brevard County.”

In fact, not only am I not taking you seriously, but for some reason right now, I am visualizing you sitting in your mom’s basement with your underpants on your head, while wearing swim goggles and a snorkel as you sit typing emails about how bad you hate the world!

I’m guessing you feel pretty tough sitting there after having drank 20 cans of “Red Bull Keyboard Courage” and thinking your email would actually make me quake in my boots!! Nope, only made me laugh, and to be honest, the mental image of you sitting there with those swim goggles only adds to the laughter!

Now I believe in giving people second chances, so I want you to go upstairs, get your mommy to give you a juice box, and ask her to help you craft your next email so it actually looks like it was written by an adult who has full control of their emotions.

Oh, and by the way, if my standing up for the rights and freedoms of our citizens causes you so much anxiety, perhaps you should look into getting a therapy pony to help you cope cause as long as I am Sheriff of Brevard County, I am going to keep doing exactly what I have been doing…you know, stuff like targeting criminals before they target our citizens, taking bad people off our streets, partnering together with our citizens to keep our community safe, and never once apologizing for it!

Now have a nice day, and please be safe!
