Florida Tech Women’s Lacrosse Player Kailee O’Brien Named to All-Sunshine State Conference Team

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Kailee O’Brien of the Florida Tech women’s lacrosse team was named to the 2023 All-Sunshine State Conference team as announced by the SSC office Tuesday evening.

A fifth-year graduate student and a 2022 All-American, O’Brien was named to the 2023 All-SSC Second Team. This is her second consecutive season earning All-SSC Honors.

The defender helped the team earn its third season above .500 over the past four years. Starting in all 17 games, she led Tech with 19 caused turnovers, the ninth most in the conference, while also recording 28 ground balls, the third-highest total this season.

She also recorded seven points on five goals and two assists, with a .714 shooting percentage and shots-on-goal percentage.

After five seasons with the Panthers, O’Brien finishes her career at Florida Tech as a USA Lacrosse All-American, IWLCA All-South Region Honoree, and two-time All-SSC Honoree.

Along with her accolades, she is ranked in program history as having, recorded the fifth most ground balls (139), sixth-most caused turnovers (78), eighth-most career ground balls per game (2.20), eighth-most draw control wins (70), and the 10th most assists (28) among numerous single-season records.
