Cocoa Beach Fire Rescue, Lifeguards Help Resuscitate Child After Possible Drowning at City Pool

The Cocoa Beach Fire and Police Department were dispatched to a report of a nine-year-old patient that possibly drowned while swimming at the City pool during Summer Camp activities at 10:04 a.m. Friday morning.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA –  The Cocoa Beach Fire and Police Department were dispatched to a report of a nine-year-old patient that possibly drowned while swimming at the City pool during Summer Camp activities at 10:04 a.m. Friday morning.

First responders say they were able to establish a pulse and breathing after lifesaving measures were started by Cocoa Beach lifeguards.

The patient was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the patient and their family during this difficult time and wishing a speedy recovery,” said the Cocoa Beach Fire Department in a released statement.

The condition of the child is unknown at this time.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
