Florida Tech Names Alexis Kapsambelis as Panther’s New Assistant Director of Sport Performance

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech Director of Performance Carl Putman is excited to announce the hire of Alexis Kapsambelis as the Panther’s new Assistant Director of Sports Performance.
“We are very excited to welcome Alexis to our Sports Medicine and Performance team at Florida Tech,” said Putman. “Her experience, education, and enthusiasm will greatly benefit our scholar-athletes, teams, and program.
“I believe she will be a positive addition to our team and help us to continue to improve our Sports Performance program and the services we can provide to our Athletic Department. We are excited for Alexis to be a Panther!”
Kapsambelis comes to Florida Tech after serving as a Strength and Conditioning Fellow at Saint Anselm College since August of 2022. During her time at Saint Anselm, she worked with the men’s and women’s cross country, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s golf programs.
“I want to thank Coach Putman and the athletic department for this opportunity to be a part of a great program and community!” Kapsambelis said. “I am looking forward to getting started. Go Panthers!”
Prior to Saint Anselm, Kapsambelis worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and High Level Throwing Coach for Wasserman Strength and Conditioning. She was responsible for coaching young athletes on the fundamentals of strength training and sports performance with the goal of improving skills in both softball and baseball.
Additionally, Kapsambelis was a Youth Sports Performance Intern for Dynamic Strength and Conditioning in the Summer of 2020. During this internship, she led middle school and high school athlete through fundamental strength and conditioning programs while adapting the training to fit each athlete’s needs.
A former NCAA DIII scholar-athlete, Kapsambelis was a member of the softball team at the University of New England from 2015-2019. In 134 career games, Kapsambelis batted .283 with 70 hits in 247 at-bats.
She registered six doubles, three triples, and one home run while driving in 29 runs. Her 56 runs scored, 32 of which came in her senior season, aided the softball program to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship series in the 2019 season.
A native of Merrimack, N.H., Kapsambelis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of New England in May 2019 and a Master of Science in Exercise Science with a Concentration in Strength and Conditioning from Merrimack College in May 2023.
