Rockledge Defeats Port St. John 4-1 in Florida District 22 Little League All-Star Tournament Action

The Florida District 22 Little League 10-12 Baseball division was underway over the weekend. Rockledge Little League defeated Port St. John 4-1.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Florida District 22 Little League 10-12 Baseball division was underway over the weekend. Rockledge Little League defeated Port St. John 4-1.

Over at Rockledge Little League’s McLarty Park, the 10-12 Baseball continued with the Port St. John LL meeting Rockledge LL.

Port St. John’s lead-off hitter, Jaxon Plecki, started the game with a single and eventually rounded the bases to score.

But, Port’s run production faltered after that. For Rockledge, Perry Cameron went 2-for-2 at the plate and scored both times, while Adrian Dobles and TJ Belmar each hit a double.

On the mound, Jaxon Carter had 6 strikeouts and combined with Cameron for Rockledge’s 4-1 win in 5 1/2 innings. Merritt Island will meet Indian River City in Tuesday night’s game.

Meanwhile, at Merritt Island LL’s MILA Fields, the 9-11 Softball Tournament got underway with the Merritt Island team (visitors) pitted against the Rockledge team.

Rockledge’s Jordyn Michel and Savannah Williams each went 1-for-1 at the plate, but no scores resulted. Merritt Island’s Sawyer Connell hit 2-for-3, along with Akemi Jenkins (scored 2 runs) and Kylie Kahl (scored 3 runs).

Taegan Manderfield pitched the entire game for Merritt Island in their 12-0 victory in 5 innings. These teams will meet again Tuesday for their second game in the best-of-3 series.

Rounding out the night at Merritt Island LL’s Mitchell Ellington Park, Merritt Island’s Junior Baseball All-Stars (visitors) met the All-Stars from Mims LL (home).

For Mims, Mason Selph and Preston Dietrich singled but were unable to score. Merritt Island’s Timmy McAllister scored three times while Cooper Janke, Liam Miller, Vincent Barchanowicz, Taelon Long, and Sebastian Hamilton each added a pair of runs.

Cooper Janke and Kane Paglialonga combined on the mound for Merritt Island in their 17-0 win in 5 innings. Mims and Merritt Island will meet Tuesday night for the next game in this best 2-out-of-3 pool.
