Why Your Vape Pen Is Not Working and What to Do About It
By Space Coast Daily // June 12, 2023
When you charge your vape pen, you expect it to work, right? Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen.
Why could this be the case? Here are some of the common problems your device might be having and what to do about it:
The battery is beyond its lifespan
If your vape pen is old, the battery is also old; as you know, old batteries don’t hold charge. If you have had your vape pen for a long time, consider replacing the battery.
Some vape pens use removable batteries, while others use built-in batteries that are difficult to replace.
If the battery is losing charge fast, the first thing you should do is to determine whether you can replace it. Check the user manual or the manufacturer’s website for this.
Remove the old battery from your vape pen carefully if it has a replaceable battery. Before proceeding, ensure the vape pen is turned off and disconnected from any power sources.
You should then insert the new battery according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Check that the battery’s positive and negative terminals are aligned with the device’s connections.
During the installation process, do not harm the battery or the vape pen.
Once the new battery is in place, turn on the vape pen to ensure it works properly. If it turns on and functions normally, your problem may have been resolved.
If it still doesn’t work, other issues with the vape pen could need to be addressed.
If you are unsure about replacing the battery yourself or if your vape pen has a built-in battery that cannot be easily replaced, it is best to seek expert assistance or contact the manufacturer’s customer service.
The atomizer is malfunctioning.
The atomizer in your vape pen converts the oil or e-liquid into vapor. If you feel your vape pen isn’t working due to an atomizer problem, check the connections and ensure the atomizer is securely connected to the battery or mod.
Sometimes the connection is dusty, preventing the atomizer from connecting correctly. Clean the connectors gently with a cotton swab or a soft cloth. You also should check that the atomizer is properly inserted in place.
You also should scrutinize the atomizer for any noticeable damage or obstructions. If necessary, clean the atomizer according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Remove any excess e-liquid or debris that could be interfering with its operation.
If your atomizer has changeable coils, the problem could be a worn-out or burned-out coil. Replace the coil with a new one according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Before using the new coil, thoroughly prime it by soaking it in e-liquid.
If you have another compatible atomizer, try using it with your vape pen to see if the problem remains. You can also buy new atomizers, such as Dr. Dabber atomizers.
This will help you determine whether the issue is with the atomizer or another component of the vape pen.
If the aforementioned measures do not address the problem, it is best to seek professional help or contact the manufacturer’s customer service. They might provide additional troubleshooting procedures or recommend repairs or replacements.
You are using the wrong cartridge.
Regrettably, not all cartridges are compatible with your vape pen. If you recently replaced your cartridge and your vape pen isn’t working, this might be the problem.
Before you move, find out which cartridges are compatible with your vape pen model. For this, see the user manual or the manufacturer’s website. Ascertain that the cartridge you are attempting to use is compatible with your vape pen.
If you use the wrong cartridge, replace it with the right one. To guarantee accurate alignment and insertion, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Even if you have the correct cartridge, the problem may be due to filthy or clogged connections.
Clean the connections on the cartridge and vape pen using a cotton swab or a soft cloth. Check for any debris or residue that may be interfering with the connection.
The push button isn’t on.
Sometimes the problem is as simple as failing to turn on the push button. To turn on your vape pen, look for the power button and press it quickly five times a row. This technique is known as “five clicks” and is a frequent way to turn on or off vape pens. Check if the vape pen turns on after pressing the button five times.
Additional button settings on some vape pens control various functions, such as voltage or temperature adjustment, and they might come in the way and prevent the vape pen from coming on.
See the user manual or manufacturer’s instructions to learn how to navigate the settings and verify they are correctly set up.
Sometimes the push button will fail to work due to dirt and debris. Inspect the push button to verify no obstructions or blockages prevent it from working correctly. Clean the area surrounding the button with a cotton swab or a soft cloth to remove debris or residue.
You have depleted the cartridge.
After finishing the cartridge’s contents, the device will stop emitting vapor. If this is what is happening, check to see if the cartridge is empty.
The simplest approach is to replace the depleted cartridge with a new one. Check that you have a cartridge compatible with your vape pen model. To correctly install the replacement cartridge, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
If you have a rechargeable vaporizer, refill the cartridge before attempting to use it again. However, if you have a disposable vape pen, throw it away and replace it.
You have an oil leak.
Prefilled cartilage can also become broken and leak. If the oil gets inside the battery, it may cause your vaporizer to cease working. You should find out where the leak is coming from, and if you can’t fix it, replace the cartridge.
Always use caution when handling vape pens and cartridges. You should always follow the manufacturer’s directions and protect yourself to avoid accidents.
