COLLEGE SPORTS: Florida Tech Panthers Women’s Soccer Unveils 2023 Schedule

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Florida Tech women’s soccer team unveiled the 2023 schedule on Thursday afternoon under the direction of head coach Ryan Moon. The Panthers are scheduled to play 16 games with eight home contests and a 10-game conference schedule this Fall.

Florida Tech finished its 2022 campaign with an 8-6-3 overall record, a 5-4-1 conference record, and a second straight Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Championship appearance.

“It has been a long wait from the end of last season to now and we are eager to get going for the 2023 season,” said Moon. “The conference keeps getting stronger and we are looking forward to the competition. We know that we will have to battle for every point this year and will be 100 percent ready for the challenge come day one.”

The 2023 journey begins with a series of preseason scrimmages in late August. The Panthers will play the West Florida Flames on Saturday, Aug. 19, Edward Waters on Tuesday, Aug. 22, and Eastern Florida on Saturday, Aug. 26.

The regular season begins for the Panthers on the road on Thursday, Aug. 31 against Auburn-Montgomery in Montgomery, Ala. The team then heads to Jackson, Tenn. to take on Union on Saturday, Sept. 2 before traveling back down to the Sunshine State for a midweek matchup with Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday, Sept. 6 in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Florida Tech’s home opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 9 with a rematch from last season’s SSC Championship game against Embry-Riddle at the freshly renovated Rick Stottler Field. The Panthers will then remain at home for a midweek tilt against Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Conference action officially begins for Florida Tech on Saturday, Sept. 16 on the road against Nova Southeastern in Davie, Fla. The Panthers will then host back-to-back SSC games against Saint Leo and Lynn on Saturday, Sept. 23, and Wednesday, Sept. 27.

Florida Tech is then on the road for a two-game stretch against Eckerd on Saturday, Sept. 30 and Embry-Riddle on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

After a weekend off, The Panthers return to the confines of Rick Stottler Field to battle with Barry on Wednesday, Oct. 11 before going back on the road to take on Tampa on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The Panthers then battle with Palm Beach Atlantic at home on Saturday, Oct. 21 before its final road game against Rollins on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Florida Tech will honor its seniors on Saturday, Oct. 28 for Senior Night with an out-of-conference contest against Flagler. The Panthers then round out the regular season at home with an SSC matchup against Florida Southern on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

The SSC Tournament is scheduled to begin with the quarterfinal matchups on Monday, Nov. 6, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 9. The conference championship will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12. Times and locations will be determined at a later date.
