ORLANDO, FLORIDA – More than 50 students of Courageous Kicks Taekwondo outshone other competitors at last week’s USCDKA National Championships on July 6 through 8 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Orlando.

The students bagged 40 gold medals, 31 silver medals, and 20 bronze medals, which led the team to the number one spot. The Courageous Kicks Taekwondo team earned 91 medals against 22 schools and 280 competitors throughout the country last week.

“I cannot express how proud we are of all our students. They showed determination, dedication, and perseverance,” Master Happy and Semaiah Kierstead said.

Last year, they took on 30 schools and 250 competitors and were hailed as one of the best. Last Thursday was a golden debut for six Courageous Kicks competitors, as they have been waiting for this moment their entire lives.

“Courageous Kicks is all about building relationships on and off the mats,” said Kierstead.

Taekwondo Master, 6th Degree, Master Happy Kierstead, and 3rd Degree, Brianna Dargie, were awarded at the night of champions.

“When I first took over the school, I only had my siblings, and I represented my school. To go from the smallest to receiving the most supportive school award was an incredible feeling,” Master Happy Kierstead said.

For them, medals may go away but their friendships will last a lifetime.

The students bagged 40 gold medals, 31 silver medals, and 20 bronze medals, which led the team to the number one spot. The Courageous Kicks Taekwondo team walked the talk with 91 medals against 22 schools and 280 crème de la crème throughout the country last week. (Courageous Kicks image)
