BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Ava Boyd, a rising senior at Merritt Island High School, recently sat down with the Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson and talked about her love for Merritt Island and Merritt Island High School, her work and enjoyment in the arts, and much more in this exclusive interview.

Boyd is a singer/actress/dancer, that has performed in multiple shows in central Florida. She recently performed in the musical Guys and Dolls at the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse.

When talking about her plans after graduation, Boyd said, “I know that a lot of Florida schools have good BFA’s, which is Batchelor of Fine Arts program. I want to do musical theatre.”

Boyd said she would like to participate in a “program at a college that would help me grow as a performer.”

She also excels in the classroom and will be vice president of the Student Council at Merritt Island High School during the 2023-2024 school year.
