OBITUARY: Geraldine Fahey Murphy, 81, of Palm Bay, Passed Away July 8

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine Fahey Murphy of Palm Bay, FL on July 8, 2023. She and her husband of 59 years, Dan, moved from Albany to South Florida in 1972. Gerry and Dan were nomads at heart.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine Fahey Murphy of Palm Bay, FL on July 8, 2023.

Geraldine (Gerry) Fahey was born on February 10, 1942, in Albany, NY.

She was the second of four children born to Thomas and Mary Fahey. Prior to the birth of her first child, Gerry worked as a proofreader for the state of New York. She became an avid reader and developed a love of painting.

She and her husband of 59 years, Dan, moved from Albany to South Florida in 1972. Gerry and Dan were nomads at heart.

Gerry always wanted to see what was beyond the horizon. As a result, they travelled extensively across the US and other countries.

They relocated several times between New York, North Carolina, Gorgia and Florida.

Gerry supported her husband throughout their loving marriage. Together, they built several businesses, bought and sold real estate, and created a loving home.

She was a beloved mother of three sons and a daughter. She ensured her children were well fed, clothed, and educated. Gerry was a devout Roman Catholic. She was a shining example of the faith to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Gerry is pre-deceased by her older sister Patricia Drag. She is survived by her husband, Daniel, four children: Daniel, Kevin, Sean and Eileen, seven grandchildren: Damian, Aidan, Gabriel, Logan, Megan, Keira, and Katie, brother James Fahey, and sister Alicia Maleski.

Gerry’s funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday July 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5330 Babcock St. NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905. With internment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 1422 Miller St., Palm Bay, FL 32905.
