BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard Federated Republican Women August Luncheon will be held Wednesday, August 2, at 11 a.m. at the Space Coast Convention Center, located at 301 Tucker Lane in Cocoa.

The program will feature Congressman Bill Posey, who represents Florida’s 8th Congressional District which encompasses all of Brevard and Indian River Counties, and a small portion of Orange County (Bithlo, Christmas and Wedgefield). Posey was elected to U.S. House of Representatives in 2008 and is currently serving his seventh term.

In the House, Congressman Posey serves on the Financial Services Committee and its two subcommittees on Consumer Protection & Financial Institutions and Housing, Community Development & Insurance. Posey also serves on the Committee on Science, Space and Technology and its subcommittee on Space & Aeronautics.

Prior to being elected to Congress, Posey served in the Florida State Senate, the Florida House and as a member of the Rockledge City Council. He attended Cocoa High and graduated from Brevard Community College with an Associate of Arts degree in 1969.  Congressman Posey has long been an advocate for greater accountability in government and is the author of the book Activity Based Total Accountability.

A meeting fee of $26 includes Turkey Cobb salad, fruit, rolls and dessert. A gluten-free meal is available upon request.

Advanced reservations are required and must be made by noon on Friday, July 30. Any reservations made late will be charged $31.
