Brevard Youth Chorus to Host Auditions for New Singers Grades 4-10 on Aug. 31

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard Youth Chorus will hold auditions for singers in grades 4-10 on August 31 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Advent Lutheran Church.

The Church is located in Suntree, 7550 North Wickham Road, 32940.

Membership in the non-profit chorus is open to students in public, private, charter, and home schools.

Beth Green is the Artistic Director of the Brevard Youth Chorus.

Mrs. Green taught elementary school music for over a decade. She was awarded Teacher of the Year and earned the prestigious Music Demonstration School designation twice during her time as Music Specialist at Audubon Elementary.

She has taught school, church, and community choirs of all ages and currently conducts the well-known choral ensemble, the Indialantic Chamber Singers.

“It’s a joy to work with the talented young singers of the Brevard Youth Chorus,” said Mrs. Green.

“After new members are auditioned, we will start rehearsing on Thursday evenings for our fall and holiday performances. Along the way, we’ll ensure the youngsters work on their music fundamentals and are having an experience that is meaningful and fun.”

The select group of youngsters performs at venues and events throughout Brevard. In the 2023-24 season, the Chorus will perform alongside the adult Indialantic Chamber Singers in two concerts and on the anniversary program of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra at the King Center, in addition to their own spring concert and a holiday offering at the Avenue Viera.
