BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Former Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer player Bunny Shaw helped Jamaica make history on Wednesday at the FIFA World Cup in Melbourne, Australia.

Jamaica tied Brazil 0-0 in Group F and advanced to the round of 16 for the first time in the country’s history. Shaw started and played the entire game in the 0-0 tie.

The historic run continues what has been a big season for the Manchester City women’s soccer team scoring with 31 goals in 30 matches this season which set the record for most goals in a single season.

Her league tally of 20 league goals also saw her overtake Nikita Parris for the most WSL goals in a single season by a City player. Shaw was named the Concacaf Women’s Soccer Player of the Year and was the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month award for October, as well as the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for January.

In two seasons at Eastern Florida State College, Shaw scored 24 goals and had 11 assists in 21 career games.

She helped the Titans to the postseason in both seasons with the team reaching the championship game of the national tournament in 2016. She was named a first team NJCAA All-American in 2016 and was named the Guardian Footballer of the Year in 2019.
