BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a heat advisory for Monday.

The peak heat index is expected to be around 108 to 112-degrees in the afternoon hours across the Space Coast as the heat wave persists across Florida.

Officials urge people to stay hydrated, limit strenuous time for extended period of times and wear light clothing to prevent heat illness.
