Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving a Boat Trailer Kills One Person from Palm Bay on I-95

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash Wednesday morning that claimed the life of 60-year-old Palm Bay man on I-95 near mile marker 168.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash Wednesday morning that claimed the life of 60-year-old Palm Bay man on I-95 near mile marker 168.

Authorities say the crash happened when a 25-year-old Melbourne woman was traveling southbound on I-95 near Malabar Rd. around 4:28 a.m. when she failed to maintain a safe distance behind a vehicle hauling a boat with a trailer driven by a 55-year-old man from Pompano Beach.

As a result, the woman collided with the trailer and the aftermath of the crash caused the vehicle with the boat to block the outside lane of I-95.

Shortly after, a 60-year-old man from Palm Bay did not see the vehicle with a boat in the outside of I-95 and crashed into it. The impact of the crash killed the man at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
