Three Eastern Florida State Men’s Golfers Named Golf Coaches Association All-America Scholars

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Three members of the Eastern Florida State College men’s golf team have been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholars for NJCAA Division I.
Pontus Torgner, Murphy Allard, and Brandon Boncore were three of the 17 NJCAA Division I athletes honored by the GCAA.
To be eligible, the student-athlete had to be in their sophomore season both academically and athletically, have a stroke average under 77 and maintain a career grade-point average of 3.2.
Torgner and Allard were also named to NJCAA Division I All-Academic teams earlier this summer as Torgner was named to the second team and Allard made the third team.
The men’s golf team won the Southeast District title and placed 13th overall at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Newton, Kansas.
