City of Rockledge to Hold 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Saturday, 9/9 at at the Civic Hub Next to City Hall

Remembering 9/11 will be at the Civic Hub Next to Rockledge City Hall

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The City of Rockledge will hold a 9/11 Ceremony on Saturday, September 9, at the Civic Hub next to Rockledge City Hall, which is located at 1600 Huntington Lane. The Remembrance gets underway at 9 a.m.
United States Congressman Bill Posey will be one of two honored speakers. Congressman Posey serves the 8th Congressional District, which encompasses all of Brevard County, Indian River County and a portion of East Orange County.
The second honored speaker will be Ricky Aw, a 9/11 survivor. Aw, a Palm Bay resident, worked on the 53rd floor of the North Tower at the World Trade Center, at the time of the 9/11 attacks.
The program will begin with Scott Gardiner of the Brevard County Fire Rescue playing bagpipes. Rockledge Mayor Tom Price will welcome all in attendance, and Councilman Shaun Ferguson will deliver the invocation. Rockledge Public Safety Department Honor Guard will present the Colors.

Noted singer LeRoy Darby will perform the National Anthem, and Scout Troops 321 and 4321 will lead in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Rockledge High School Strings Ensemble will be performing, as will the St. Mary Children’s Choir. Deputy Fire Chief James Wilson will read the 9/11 Prayer.
The Wreath will be presented by Deputy Police Chief Donna Seyferth and Deputy Fire Chief James Wilson.
The program will conclude with the Rockledge Public Safety Department Honor Guard playing Taps and Councilman Duane Daski offering his closing remarks.
