BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Stephen Berni, 84, of Sebastian, Florida passed away on September 16, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.
He was born in Bronx, NY to Marion Razzano and Anthony Berni. He had been a resident of Sebastian for 43 years, coming from Lindenhurst, Long Island, NY. He was married to Marolyn Sammis Berni for 61 years.
Stephen served his country proudly as a Heavy Weapons Infantryman in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964.
Following his service, he was a commercial fisherman for approximately 50 years. He also enjoyed hunting and salt and freshwater sportfishing. Stephen enjoyed watching sports and was an avid animal lover.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Marolyn Berni; sons, Anthony (Patricia) and Stephen (Krissie); grandsons, Corbin and Cody; brother, Joseph; sister, Marion; cousin, Stephanie Petrulak; brother-in-law, Edward Sammis (Lenore); nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Anthony Berni; sisters, Agatha and Theresa, and nephew Troy Sammis.
