BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue units responded to a structure fire on Sunday afternoon in Merritt Island.

According to officials, crews responded from Brevard County Fire Rescue stations 41, 42, 43, 44, Cocoa Beach Fire Department, Canaveral Fire Rescue City/Port, Four Communities Fire Department, and Merritt Island Volunteer Fire Department.

“Engine 42 was first on the scene to find an outside fire exposed to the residence,” said Brevard County Fire Rescue spokesperson.

Reports suggest that all occupants and pets were out of the home. The scene was transferred to investigators and the Red Cross was contacted for the residents.
