Cocoa Police K9 ‘Copper’ Comforts Students at Emma Jewel Charter Academy Whose Teacher Passed Away

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police K9 Copper spent some time with the students at Emma Jewel Charter Academy who are mourning the loss of their teacher.
“It is a sad day, as everyone is mourning the loss of a beloved teacher who passed away. K9 Copper is trying to bring comfort the way only he can during sad or stressful times,” said a Cocoa Police spokesperson.
Copper visited several classrooms. The students were overjoyed to see him and they were able to pet him.
“One student sat with Copper for about 20 minutes and by the end of the visit with Copper, his tears subsided and he began talking about his favorite activities. K9 Copper will be with the children all day, and for as long as he is needed!” said a Cocoa Police spokesperson.
