BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Linda Smura is no stranger to giving back to her community. A volunteer her entire adult life, and as the mother of six children, Linda has given her time and energy in support of various functions such as the PTA and scouting.

Since 2018, Linda has served as a member of the West Melbourne Parks and Recreation Board, as well as assisting with events held at Field of Dreams.

Linda began volunteering with the Palm Bay Police Department in 2020.

As a member of the patrol unit of the VCOPs, she and her patrol partner provide neighborhood and commercial security checks and assist with VIN verifications, traffic control support, and house checks.

“Helping people is an honor,” she said.

She enjoys all aspects of her duties with the Palm Bay VCOPs, but especially the community interaction at parades and other functions.

Aside from her family and volunteer activities, Linda enjoys painting with acrylics (she recently had a showing at the Strawbridge Gallery) and visiting bird sanctuaries.
