Rockledge Woman Dies in Vehicle Crash on US-1 Involving Dump Truck

A 60-year-old Rockledge woman has died Friday morning after a vehicle crash involving a dump truck happened around 6:45 a.m. on US-1 near Otter Creek Lane.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 60-year-old Rockledge woman has died Friday morning after a vehicle crash involving a dump truck happened around 6:45 a.m. on US-1 near Otter Creek Lane in Melbourne.

Authorities say the crash happened when the Rockledge woman collided with the rear-end of a dump truck.

The investigation has revealed the woman driving the vehicle failed to slow down for traffic ahead and drove into the backend of the dump truck.

The woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the dump truck, 69-year-old man from Winter Garden was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
