Pedestrian Dies After Vehicle Crash in Melbourne on North Wickham Road

Melbourne Police responded to a fatal vehicle crash involving a pedestrian Thursday night near North Wickham Road and Parkway Drive.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police responded to a fatal vehicle crash involving a pedestrian Thursday night near North Wickham Road and Parkway Drive.

According to the investigation, the crash happened at approximately 6:50 p.m. when a pedestrian was crossing North Wickham Road in the southbound travel lanes outside of the marked crosswalk and entered the path of a Toyota utility vehicle traveling southbound on North Wickham Road.

When officers arrived, they discovered the pedestrian had sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash and later died as a result of those injuries at Holmes Regional Medical Center.

It is unknown if alcohol/drugs were a factor in this crash.

The crash is still under investigation and the identity of the pedestrian is pending next of kin notification.
