Sara Murano Steps Down as Palm Bay Pirates Girls Basketball Coach, EJ Murray to Lead Program

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Pirate coach Sara Murano announced on social media that she is stepping down as head coach of the girls basketball team.

Assistant Coach EJ Murray is set to serve as head coach of the program.

Murano is also the assistant athletic director at Palm Bay and will step down as head coach with an overall record of 161-99 and finished State Runner up in 2021.

Coach Murray will be stepping in and is no stranger to Brevard County basketball. He spent three seasons as head coach at Florida Prep Academy and three seasons at Covenant Christian.

During his tenure at Florida Prep, he led the girl’s basketball team to two State Championships back in 2019 and 2020. Coach EJ Murray has a 112-40 record in his career.
