WATCH: Mrs. Universe TCP 2024, Melissa Parker, of Indialantic, FL, talks with the Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson about her most recent pageant, the Parker Foundation and much more in this exclusive interview.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I recently had the pleasure of talking with the newly crowned Mrs. Universe TCP 2024, Melissa Parker, of Indialantic, FL. Melissa was crowned on October 28, 2023, in McDonough, GA, with family and friends in attendance.
What a ride it has been for Melissa! She has competed in numerous pageants over the years and has always done well, but this was something special. Melissa told me how much she enjoys international competitions. She said, “Not only do I love serving our community here, but I have connected with many women around the world, because I have competed in many national and international competitions in the past. I love hearing the stories from the women around the world. It’s just very inspiring to me.”
During the competition, contestants were required to do a state costume, a swimsuit competition, a fitness competition, and gown competition. And, instead of a one-on-one interview with judges, a forum style presentation was conducted.
Melissa had an outstanding week and said she “just felt so ready this time.” I asked her what was the first thing that went through her mind when she heard her name called as the next Mrs. Universe TCP 2024. She told me, “The first thing I did was give thanks to the Lord that’s been with me all along the way and given me that power to be able to stand up and speak on behalf of others.”
Melissa told me she is excited about how she can incorporate the Mrs. Universe Pledge Campaign Against Domestic Abuse into her personal platform involving the Parker Foundation.
Melissa Parker is going to be an outstanding representative of the Mrs. Universe TCP. As she told me, “I just felt so ready this time.” Everyone she encounters over the next year will understand this and agree, Melissa is ready!
