BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Tigers class of 2025 four-star defensive end Javion Hilson decommited from the University of Alabama and committed to Florida State University on Tuesday.

Hilson committed to Alabama back in December after the Cocoa Tigers won their second straight state championship. Former Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban recently retired and probably played a big role in this decision.

Javion is listed as the nation’s No. 4 edge rusher and No. 47 prospect overall.

Hilson had over 30 division offers and chose Florida State over other programs such as the University of Florida, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee to name of few.

The 4-star prospect entered the State Championship game with 90 tackles, 14 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

Cocoa Tigers Head Coach Ryan Schneider had this to say about his defensive star when interviewed by 24/7 Sports, “He’s blessed to have God-given, ability,” Cocoa head coach Ryan Schneider said. “The thing that makes him great is his work ethic and drive to be the best player he can be. His work ethic and drive are some of the best I’ve ever seen in a high school football player.”
