Melbourne Police identified a motorcyclist that was killed Melbourne Avenue on Saturday as 47-year-old Jeremy James Deluca from Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police identified a motorcyclist that was killed Melbourne Avenue on Saturday as 47-year-old Jeremy James Deluca from Melbourne.

Police responded to the area of Melbourne Avenue and Melbourne Court around regarding a motorcycle crash involving a 2005 Honda motorcycle.

When police discovered the operator and passenger of the motorcycle had sustained critical injuries because of this crash.

Initial investigation reveals the motorcycle was traveling east on Melbourne Avenue, when the operator failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and both the motorcycle and the passengers went airborne.

The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased a few hours later.

“At this time, it does not appear the operator was wearing a helmet,” said a FHP spokesperson.

“Currently, it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in this crash.”

The crash is still under investigation.
