Stargazers win 40-37 over the Allstars
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – While Thanksgiving Day and the weekend always bring around some great football, this morning’s BCSO Turkey Bowl Flag Football game was one for the ages as it was a back and forth battle that ended 40-37 with the “Stargazers” once again carrying home the coveted Turkey Bowl Trophy.
Thursday’s morning game was our 12th annual game that pits members of our Command Team “Allstars” against members of the Sheriff’s Office from various units throughout our agency, known as the “Stargazers!!” And of course, I play on the “Stargazers” team cause I would rather hang out with them than the Command team as they are all boring and stuffy!!
And even better, for the second year in a row the Stargazers have managed to take home the trophy and this year they did it with the closest game we’ve had in a long time!! While the game literally went back and forth, the “Stargazers” pulled it off in the end with a 40-37 win against the “Not So Allstars” Command Team!!
On a serious note, this annual event is an amazing morning with our BCSO Family that allows everyone to engage in some good old fashioned fun outside of our normal day-to-day!! While everyone certainly plays with a competitive spirit, it is also a time for us to reflect on how truly blessed we are to be part of this incredible agency and to work in a community with citizens who love, trust, and protect us, just as much as we love, trust, and protect them.
When people ask me what I am thankful for, it’s simple…I am thankful to be part of one of the most professional agencies in the country that is comprised of 1,700 incredible men and women who put their lives on the line each and every day to protect their community!!
On behalf of myself, Junny, and all of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, we want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope the day was spent with those who mean the most to you!
