BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Nevaeh Fortes passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2024, to be with our Lord. Nevaeh was born in Providence, RI, on March 25, 2010, a micro preemie twin, weighing only 1 pound, 7 oz with Cerebral Palsy.
She loved being outside in the fresh air, smiling, waving, and greeting any passerby wherever she went. The Field of Dreams splash pad was amongst her favorite places to visit, her smile brought so much joy to everyone. The Easter and Christmas holidays were Nevaeh’s favorite times of year, she truly radiated with joy throughout the seasons.
Throughout her 14 years, she has undergone several surgeries and many procedures and yet remained strong and resilient through each one. Even when others were going through their own surgeries, Nevaeh would tell them “Be strong, you got this.” She had the biggest heart made of gold, caring for others more than herself.
At 14, Nevaeh was wise beyond her years. Despite her illness, she was always happy and cheerful, especially when singing her favorite Disney songs. Nevaeh attended Jupiter Elementary and Central Middle School and was in her freshman year at Heritage High School, where she was a member of the chorus.
Nevaeh leaves behind her mother, Natalie Kryla, her father, Nelson Fortes, her twin brother Nevin Fortes, her maternal grandparents, Thaddeus and Rochelle Kryla, paternal grandparents, Joao Fortes, and Carlota Depina, great grandmother Louise Massey, aunts, Allison and Rebecca Kryla, uncles, great aunts and uncles and a host of cousins, and her most kind wonderful friends Daniel Knazik and Samantha Varley.
Nevaeh, you will be forever loved and missed for eternity by all your family and friends whose lives you have touched. Forever rest in paradise.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
