BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – While love is in the air especially on Valentine’s Day, and while love is known to make you do crazy things, in this case, I think this guy was just doing crazy things period.
Yesterday, BCSO Deputies responded to a call about a male and a female in the area fighting.
When deputies arrived on scene they saw Kaleb Henderson standing next to a vehicle, and in a yard with a few other people nearby.
As Deputy Rory Moriarty began speaking with Henderson, he kept walking away and moving toward a female in the yard. After being told to stop several times, and repeatedly ignoring those commands, Deputy Moriarty detained Henderson until he could sort things out.
While speaking to the victim, they told the deputy that they stopped the vehicle in front of a residence to look for something in the car, that’s when Henderson walked up to the vehicle.
The victim believed it was the homeowner who was going to ask them to move the car, but instead Henderson opened the car door grabbing the victim by the arm and attempting to pull them out of the vehicle.
The victim began screaming loudly and fighting back and thankfully neighbors heard the commotion and dialed 911.
The victim was able to break free from Henderson and run to the neighbors who were outside and stopped Henderson from coming any closer to the victim.
When speaking with Henderson he told Deputies that he was staying at a house and had been drinking since about 6 a.m. When they asked him if he thought the vehicle was his he responded with “It’s bout to be mine”!
I’m not sure if Henderson understands exactly how things work and that you can’t just call “dibs” on someone else’s property and actually take it.
What Henderson did take though was a ride to Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge on a No Bond status for Carjacking Without A Firearm, Battery, Resisting Without Violence, and Disorderly Intoxication.
On a bright note, if he is lucky Henderson might get to call dibs on the top bunk or maybe even the prime shower time, but we will leave that up to him and his new cell mates to sort out.
Thank you to the citizens who stepped up to help in this situation and to Deputy Moriarty for a job well done!! Just remember, if you want to mess around in Brevard County, you better believe you’re gonna find your way to the Lodge.
