BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The West Shore Competitive Cheer team has again proven that size doesn’t determine success!
This small but mighty team earned a well-deserved silver medal for the second consecutive year at the Walt Disney World National High School Cheerleading Championship.
The team faced fierce competition throughout the season from larger, well-established programs, including state, national, and even international powerhouses.
But with unwavering dedication and a relentless spirit, the athletes and their coaches, led by Coach Hoskins and Coach Hardy, rose to the challenge repeatedly.

Their teamwork, commitment, and skill culminated in a spectacular performance that secured their silver medal this past weekend, a true testament to their hard work and perseverance all season long.
One of the team members, Barden Hissam, said, “Our cheer team’s second-place win at UCA Nationals is a huge accomplishment. It reflects months of hard work and commitment. Our strong team spirit and countless hours of practice together, constantly pushing each other to improve, made this victory possible.”
This incredible achievement highlights what’s possible when determination meets passion, no matter the school’s size. In their third year as a competitive program, West Shore cheer continues to make school, district, and Brevard County history!
