BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA — The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team scored three times in the second half to defeat No. 11 Butler Community College in the home opener Monday morning at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.

The 14th ranked Titans went into halftime down 2-1 but rallied to post a 4-2 victory and improve to 3-0 on the season.

Butler Community College got on the board first as Tyesha Nelson scored with 16 minutes and 25 seconds left in the first half. They would make it 2-0 two minutes later.

With 7:20 left in the first half Maja Lundin scored her first goal of the season to cut the lead in half.

The Grizzlies led into halftime but it was all Titans in the second half. And it started quick as Aoife Farral scored two minutes into the second half.

With the game tied, the Titans began to put pressure on the Butler defense and with 24:42 remaining, Akelia Johnson struck a shot that curled into the corner of the net to give the Titans the lead.

Johnson started the run for the final goal with a header that went to Farral who turned and hit a beautiful chip shot to the feet of a sprinting Avery Bracher. Bracher tucked inside, got by defender and blasted a shot past the keeper to make it 4-2.

It was the third straight game that Bracher has scored in.

Eastern Florida State College will turn their attention to the Region 8 Conference as they will travel to Polk State College on Sept. 16 at 4 p.m.
