Under Cocoa Beach resident Rusty Buchanan’s leadership, the Amateur Athletic Union has just reached an all-time, record breaking 691,895 members this year, and growing. This is a milestone that has never been accomplished in the 134-year history of the AAU, with the previous record of 680,673 members, set back in 2019.
The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), founded in 1888 and one of the largest, non-profit multi-sport amateur sports organizations in the world, announced that Rusty Buchanan of Cocoa Beach, Florida, was re-elected as First Vice-President during elections held at the 126th AAU National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
