Brevard Fire Rescue New Tower Truck ‘Push In’ Ceremony Set Sept. 2 at Station 41 on Merritt Island

Brevard County Fire Rescue’s new tower truck will officially be placed into service during a traditional ”push in” ceremony scheduled for Saturday, September 2. The event will take place at 9 a.m. at Station 41, located at 300 Alma Blvd. Families are welcome to attend and truck tours will be offered as part of the event. The new tower truck, a product of Sutphen Corporation, will serve the residents and visitors of Merritt Island at the Station 41 and will replace the current Sutphen ladder truck. […]

Congratulations to Eastern Florida State College Fire Training Center Class 226 graduates, especially these soon-to-be Brevard County Fire Rescue Firefighters. “Recruits Allanson, Baez, Ireland, Reith, Rycroft, Stallings and Straus will soon be joining BCFR in Recruit Class 23-01 and all of tonight’s awards were received by BCFR sponsorship recipients,” said BCFR officials. Kyle Straus received the Commander’s Award for Academic Excellence and the Space Coast Fire Chief’s Association Award for Outstanding Overall Performance, and Austin Rycroft received the Academy Chief’s Award for Most Spirited Recruit. Brevard Fire Rescue Paramedics Respond to Near-Drowning at Country Club Apartments on Merritt Island

Brevard County Fire Rescue units responded to the Country Club Apartments, located on N. Courtenay Parkway in Merritt Island for a pediatric drowning on Friday evening. According to Brevard County Fire Rescue, the victim was about 3 years old and was treated on scene by paramedics before being flown to Arnold Palmer by Health First First Flight for further care and evaluation.
