Jeanette Skinner Poised To Lead Wuesthoff-Melbourne

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Wuesthoff Health System has named Jeannette Skinner the Chief Executive Officer of Wuesthoff Medical Center – Melbourne.
Skinner will assume her new duties Monday.
As CEO of the 115-bed Melbourne hospital, Skinner will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of all hospital activities, staff development and physician relations.
“I look forward to helping Wuesthoff Medical Center create exceptional patient experiences every day,” Skinner said. “I am impressed by the friendliness and experience of our associates, as well as the overall medical capabilities of our facility.”
Experienced
A registered nurse who quickly ascended into management positions, Skinner has held nursing and operational leadership positions within healthcare systems for the past 15 years.
She comes to Brevard County from Farmington, Mo., where she was the CEO of Mineral Area Regional Hospital System, a comprehensive health system serving a four-county area.
“Jeannette’s experience running a complex organization with multiple healthcare entities and services should serve her well here,” said Wuesthoff Health System CEO Steve Patonai, who has led Wuesthoff since its acquisition by Health Management Associates in October 2010. “I am especially pleased to bring her clinical expertise to this position so she can lead advances in patient care outcomes and service delivery as we expand and develop new services.”
Executive
In addition to her nursing degree, Skinner holds a Masters in Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Wuesthoff Health System is a regional integrated health care system which includes 298-bed Wuesthoff Medical Center – Rockledge; 115-bed Wuesthoff Medical Center – Melbourne; multiple physician clinics including the multi-specialty Osler Medical; Wuesthoff Progressive Care Center, a 114-bed skilled nursing facility; The Towne Square, a 98-unit assisted living facility; and other health-related services such as home care, inpatient and outpatient hospice, Wal-Mart retail clinics, diagnostic centers, home medical equipment stores and a statewide reference laboratory.
