BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Organizers of this spring’s fun-packed 37th annual Indian River Festival have revealed to Space Coast Daily.com that prices have once again been reduced for this popular May-time event –  in order to make it more affordable for Brevard families during these tough economic times. 

In previous years at the Indian River Festival, there was always an admission charge of $5 PLUS a charge for an unlimited ride armband of up to $20 each – making it a total potential cost of $25 per person.

But for this year’s event from May 3- 6, everyone can enjoy the festival AND UNLIMITED RIDES for one low price of  ONLY $10 or $12 per person, depending on what day they visit.

The Indian River Festival is a Brevard County celebration and tradition dating back to the 1970s.  The festival grounds are located at Sandpoint Park, on a lovely 20-acre site along the beautiful Indian River Lagoon directly across from Kennedy Space Center.

The festival kicks off Thursday, May 3 with a Coca-Cola Grand Opening, offering free entertainment and free unlimited rides for only $10 admission.

Presented by the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce, this event showcases all that is Titusville.

The Indian River Festival attracts people from all over Central Florida who enjoy family-oriented entertainment, cultural enrichment opportunities, recreation activities and a sense of community spirit.

BIG CROWDS 

The festival provides children and families many memories that will last a lifetime. Charitable organizations in this area also benefit from participation.

More than 25,000 people are expected to enjoy this year’s festival, which is North Brevard’s largest annual event of its kind. The demographics of the Indian River Festival feature a strong family attendance.

The schedule includes live musical entertainment performances, State Fair quality carnival games and rides, an open-air business showcase, arts and crafts artisans, ethnic foods, military displays and a Family Fun Zone.

CIRCUS FUN FOR THE FAMILY

New this year is the Free Torres Family Circus presented by Brevard Physicians Network and Space Coast Medecine. It takes place at the Circus Arena next to the pavilion.  Get ready to be entertained by dancing dogs, acrobatic jugglers, high wire performers and the crowd favorite GLOBE OF DEATH, where two fast dueling motorcycles simultaneously race inside a 20ft enclosed metal globe.

Some more of the exciting FREE shows are the EAST COAST EXTREME MOTOCROSS STUNT SHOW during the Festival. On Friday, April 8 the dare-devil motocross stunt riders of EAST COAST EXTREME will take to the air in a spectacular display of aerial big air jumps and awe-inspiring acrobatic moves.

GREAT FOOD AT GREAT VALUE

The variety of food is also a tremendous attraction to this world-renowned Indian River Festival.  The vast menu of delicious international and great fair foods that await guests ranges from German bratwurst, smoked turkey legs to Hot Roasted Corn to Italian sausage.  Great desserts like strawberry shortcake, cotton candy, deep fried OREO cookies, and everyone’s festival favorite “funnel cakes” will also be served.  Last year over 9,123 funnel cakes were eaten.

On Saturday at 3pm, local restaurants sponsor the HOT DOG EATING CONTEST and Pie Eating Contest at the community stage. In appreciation of all Brevard County, City and Government workers, admission into the Indian River Festival will be only $9 per person with valid ID on Sunday, May 6.

Local and regional businesses are also a big part of the Indian River Fest. More than 40 businesses will be part of the BUSINESS SHOWCASE which takes place just inside the U.S 1 entrance to the festival.  Businesses interested in becoming a showcase vendor should call 321-615-8111.
