Titans Thrash TAAG Academy

Spruill Scores 27, Evans Adds 18 For BCC

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Coming off a tough road loss on Saturday, the Brevard Community College Titans returned home Monday to the welcome confines of Titan Coliseum with a resounding 112-59 victory over TAAG Academy.

Brevard moves to 3-2 on the year, and undefeated at home (2-0), while TAAG drops to 0-5, though their previous four games were much closer margins.

Reigning FCSAA State Player of the Week 6-foot-4 sophomore guard/wing Addison Spruill led the way with 27 points, to go along with 8 rebounds for the Titans.

BCC 5-foot-11 sophomore guard Nyles Evans followed with 18 points 5 steals, while fellow sophomore Gary Gaskins (an Oklahoma State commit) had 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots. Ben Patrick of BCC had a game-high nine assists.

The game was a great opportunity for some new BCC faces to show what they could do on the court and Tim “Sunshine” Debish, Jordan “JD” Smith, and Aldor Kola grabbed the moment. Each had career highs in points, with Debish netting 16 (including 4 threes), JD scoring 14 (3 threes), and Kola adding 11 points (3 threes).

For the game, the Titans shot an astounding 17 of 38 three-point attempts.

Brevard returns to action at 7 p.m. Wednesday with a key regional matchup versus Florida State College-Jacksonville at the BCC Melbourne campus, before going on the road Monday, (Nov. 19 for a rematch with Daytona State College.
