Cocoa Beach Chamber Installs 2013 Officers

Larry McIntyre Presented Distinguished Service Award
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted its 45th annual Installation Banquet on Friday, Jan. 18 at the Crowne Plaza Melbourne Oceanfront in Melbourne.
The evening began with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and the banquet program. Keith Houston of Crest Cleaners served as Master of Ceremonies.
Recognized as one of the Space Coast’s premier professional and social events, more than 200 chamber partners and guests attended the event which featured a 1968 theme to celebrate the Chamber’s 45th anniversary.

During the festivities, the Chamber installed the 2013 Chair, Cindy Dropeski of Intercoastal Insurance, Inc. and the new Board of Directors. The Chamber also recognized its outgoing board members who served terms through 2012.
The Chamber’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award, was presented to Larry McIntyre with Clear Channel Outdoor, who has shown exemplary leadership and commitment to the community.
McIntyre has been a part of the community and Clear Channel Outdoor for 30 years. His involvement with professional associations include the Brevard County Civilian Military Council, Cocoa Village Playhouse, Community Foundation, Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism, Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce (1995 Chairman of the Board) and the 2011 Chair of Junior Achievement of the Space Coast, to name just a few. McIntyre was also a founding member of the Brevard Library Foundation.
“His efforts truly have had a positive impact on our economy, our businesses and our quality of life in Brevard County,” said Houston.
Additional awards included the Ambassador of the Year, presented to Brenda VanAntwerp with Two Men & A Truck, and the Council/Committee of the Year was presented to the Convention & Visitors Bureau.
New Offers Sworn In
Captain John P. Heatherington, commanding officer, NOTU, U.S. Navy, administered the oath of office to the new chairman, officers and board of directors.
