Sams House Hosts Handmade Basket Workshop

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Spaces are still available for the Handmade Basket Workshop on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Sams House at Pine Island.

Spaces are still available for the Handmade Basket Workshop on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Sams House at Pine Island.

This all-day workshop will be taught by Master Basketweaver Becky Selman. Participants will create a melon basket using native and natural materials.

Participants are asked to wear older clothing and bring a towel and lunch.

Class is limited to 15 students, cost is $30 for an 8-inch basket. Registrants will pay Selman at the class.

All proceeds will benefit education programs at Sams House at Pine Island. Register by Oct. 12 by calling (321) 449-4720.

The Sams House House at Pine Island is owned and operated by the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Program.

The Center is open Thursdays to Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located at 6195 North Tropical Trail in Merritt Island, a half-mile west of State Road 3.
