DR. JOHN POTOMSKI PASSIONATE ADVOCATE FOR ELDERLY
The Long-Term Care Symposium founder, John H. Potomski, Jr., D.O., CMD, is president of the BCMDA, and has been a medical provider for residents in area rehabilitation and nursing centers, as well as assisted living facilities, for more than 30 years.
Dr. Potomski spends much of his free time advocating for medical legislation at the national, state and local level that will enhance care for the patients in these practice settings. For the time and talent he has devoted to his commitment to ensure continuous quality, safe care and conditions for seniors, the most vulnerable demographic age group, he was recognized as a Central Florida Humanitarian in 2011.
The symposium’s invited attendees include medical directors, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, nursing directors, administrators, pharmacy consultants, hospice and home health care representatives and facility department heads.
“Melbourne Hilton Rialto Place will be the venue, which has proved to be a an excellent venue for the event in the past,” said Dr. Potomski.
The doors will open at 4:30 p.m., and attendees will have the opportunity to network and browse the over 30 symposium sponsor’s vendor booths promoting various health care services and products before the symposium begins.
“Without the support of our sponsors, we would not be where we are now, I cannot thank them enough,” said Dr. Potomski.
HONORING LONG TERM CARE PROVIDERS
As in the past, the final highlight of the evening is BCMDA’s recognition of an individual over the age of 60 who has devoted at least 20 years of their career to providing outstanding long term care to their patients. This individual is nominated by their peers and selected for the honor by the BCMD awards committee.
