PATRICK RECORDED 22 ASSISTS IN THREE GAMES

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Ben Patrick is the Eastern Florida State College Student-Athlete of the Month for December.

Patrick, a 6-foot, 3-inch sophomore point guard and co-captain from Clearwater, FL and Impact Academy, had a sterling month. In eight games he recorded 54 assists – averaging 6.8 per game – and committed only 10 turnovers for a 5.4 assists to turnover ratio.

Patrick is ranked 12th nationally in NJCAA Division I in assists with 93 and 13th nationally in assists to turnover ratio at 4.6. His assists to turnover ratio is the best among the top 50 players in assists in the country.

“Ben’s assist to turnover ratio is astounding,” said Eastern Florida head coach Jeremy Shulman.” Two-to-one (assists to turnovers) is considered good. Ben’s 5.4-to-one is amazing.”

Patrick is ranked 12th nationally in NJCAA Division I in assists with 93 and 13th nationally in assists to turnover ratio at 4.6. His assists to turnover ratio is the best among the top 50 players in assists in the country.

During a stretch of three December games Patrick recorded 22 assists and only one turnover. Against nationally fourth-ranked Chipola College and its University of Connecticut signee Sam Cassell Jr., Patrick scored 14 points and recorded eight assists. He finished the month with a total of 37 points and 10 steals.

“Ben’s value to our team doesn’t always show up on the stat sheet,” Shulman said.

“Ben’s best attribute is that he’s a flat out winner. He makes everyone on the court better when he’s on the floor. And Ben always plays his best ball in our most crucial game. He’s like a coach on the floor.”
