Barfield, Smith, Justice Take Primary Election Victories

2014 BREVARD COUNTY PRIMARY ELECTIONS
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – In primary elections around Brevard County on Tuesday, Jim Barfield edged Michael Hartman, and Curt Smith soundly defeated a field of six opponents, to win Brevard County Commission seats District 2 and District 4 respectively.
In the Port Canaveral Commission District 3 race, Wayne Justice unseated longtime incumbent Frank Sullivan 57 – 43 percent.
Incumbent Sen. Thad Altman defeated Monique Miller 65 – 35 percent, while incumbent State Rep. John Tobia topped Tim Street, 55-44 percent.
In the school board races, Misty Belford won outright in District 1 with more than 56 percent of the vote, while John Craig and Keith Yarbrough will face off for District 2 in the general election in November.
Incumbent Andy Ziegler and Denise Coyle will vie for District 5 in the general election in November.
