Eastern Florida Men, Women Look To Continue Win Streaks

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida’s men’s and women’s basketball teams, both riding impressive winning streaks, hit the road Saturday as the Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference grind continues.

The men, 19-1 overall, 2-0 in conference and ranked seventh nationally by the NJCAA, second nationally in the computer-generated Massey Ratings and second in Florida visit Miami Dade College (13-7 and 1-1) for a 2 p.m. tip off in Kendall.

The women, 13-5 overall, 4-0 in conference and ranked seventh in Florida and 16th nationally in the Massey Ratings, travel to Lake Worth for a 2 p.m. game against Palm Beach State (5-12 and 3-1).

The men are coming off a bruising 78-74 victory over Palm Beach State on Wednesday that extended their season winning streak to 15 and their home court winning streak to 42.

The women defeated Broward College 88-57 on Tuesday to extend their season winning streak to six and their home-court winning streak to eight.

The men return home on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game against Indian River State which they defeated 83-56 on Jan. 7 in Fort Pierce.

The game will be telecast live on WEFS-TV and streamed live on the Internet.

The women travel to St. Petersburg on Wednesday for a rematch, having won 71-68 on Jan. 7, rallying from a 16-point deficit.
